Six students expelled and Seven workers suspended in UNIPORT for Misconduct

Six students and Seven workers of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) have been expelled and suspended respectively announced the Senate of the Institution.

A Bulletin made available to NAN disclosed that that the offences included Incitement and Examination malpractice.

In the Bulletin ,it was also revealed that the decision to expel the student was taken at the 432nd Meeting of the Senate of the University on Thursday.

Also it revealed that a Postgraduate student of the Educational Management Department was rusticated for Damaging the Image of the University.

The student was also rusticated for Incitement against a no-hawking policy of the Institution.

The Senate also Endorsed the expulsion of a College of Health Sciences female student who continued her studies despite the failure from her Bachelor of Medicine Programme.

Staffs who are suspected to be involved in the Misconduct are being questioned by the  Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee.

Four students were also expelled from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical sciences for examination malpractice during the Institution's 2015/2016 second semester Examination.

Seven other staffs were suspended for allegedly involving in a pull down of a Building under construction in the University Campus.

The suspended staffs were thereby placed on Half-pay throughout their period of suspension.
